COCOON

As I understand, a cocoon is a quiet hidden place that seems inactive and still, with the colossal transformation happening inside. It represents both visible outer and private inner transformations, a more profound message that our lives are about to change.

ABSTRACT GRAY

“Abstract Grey” was the result of experimentation with various colors & textures. A solid outer shell protects softer, moving elements just inside. The yellow draws the viewers ‘attention to the inside of the piece, while shadows and contradiction against its painted counterparts. Depending on the light source, shadows change, constantly breathing life into this artwork. The geometry of the pattern may remind the viewer of many things. 

SPINNAKER

For this creation, the inspiration was a sailboat. As the spinnaker, it fills with wind and balloons out in front of the ship when it is deployed, called flying; its crucial function is as an airfoil, increasing the performance and overall stability of the vessel. The miniature version of a commissioned sculpture piece is located in Venice, FL, and full-size stands at the entrance to an affluent waterfront neighborhood in Coral Gables, FL. Its series of formations changes the viewer’s perspective as one walks or drives around the piece, stationed at a roundabout.
